Renewed Colruyt Asse opens on Wednesday 2 August
Refurbished store with an eye on sustainability and new parapharmacy range
Monday, July 31, 2023
On Wednesday 2 August 2023, the renewed Colruyt Lowest Prices store at Nerviersstraat will open its doors. In addition to the new parapharmacy assortment and revamped butcher's department, extra attention was paid to store efficiency and sustainability. Customers can still visit Collect&Go and DATS 24 in Asse.
Efficient shopping at the lowest prices
On an area of 1,950 m2, Colruyt Asse offers a wide range of quality products at the lowest prices. Gerant Jelle Booghmans: 'In our fresh market, customers already found products such as fruit and vegetables, fish, dairy, veggie and ready meals. Now they can also go there for our wide range of cold cuts. In the completely renovated butcher's department, the self-service counter has been replaced by transparent, sealed fridges that emit less CO2. The open workshop has been preserved, so it remains easy for customers to approach the butchers with questions or for special orders." The store assortment was not only expanded, including a new parapharmacy department, it was also organised differently. This optimisation makes a store visit now even more efficient. The checkout area was also expanded.
Collect&Go and DATS 24 also present
Customers will still have a Collect&Go pick-up point at their disposal in Asse. Collect&Go is Colruyt Group's convenient online shopping service. Customers send their shopping lists to collectandgo.be or through the app and co-workers have their products ready at the pick-up point by the day and time of their choice. Next to the store, there is also a DATS 24 filling station. This allows customers to combine shopping with refueling: handy and time-saving.
Extra focus on sustainability
The Asse store is fully equipped with LED lights that save up to 30% energy thanks to a sensor. The residual heat from cooling is recovered and from the ventilation system as much as 75% of the heat is reused. Solar panels on the store's roof provide green electricity. On the car park, 7 extra wide bike racks are provided to securely attach (cargo) bikes. With all these measures, Colruyt wants to optimise its energy consumption and reduce its CO2 impact.
Open house evening Tuesday 1 August
Gerant Jelle Booghmans: 'Together with my team of 47 store workers, I look forward to welcoming our customers. That is why we are happy to invite them to be the first to discover the renewed store during our open house evening on Tuesday 1 August from 17 to 20 hours. See you then!'
