Solucious actively supports festive foodbox especially for (youth) associations and companies: "The Dinner by Marcelo".

Solucious, Colruyt Group's food service company, is actively working with two top chefs to offer a food box that (youth) associations and companies can use especially for the festive month of December. "The Dinner by Marcelo" is a unique initiative of top chef Marcelo Ballardin, together with Master Patissier Roger van Damme. They created this festive foodbox that can be sold by (youth) associations, who can sell these in order to have some extra finances during this - also for them - challenging year. For companies too, the box can be a solution for a pleasant 'gathering at a distance' between colleagues. Solucious takes care of the ingredients and the delivery of "The Dinner By Marcelo" to the company or the local pickup point of the (youth) association.

The idea for this new concept arose after the second lockdown, in which many (youth) associations had to cancel their food festivals and other activities. Moreover, the end of the year days are approaching and alternative ways and menus for the celebration of the Christmas days are being searched for. Associations can offer this box during the month of December to their network, which can support them financially.

Yves Van den Brande, responsible for Solucious: "A good idea: that makes us enthusiastic as well. For us this was a great opportunity to act as a connector and logistics partner of this original initiative. Families, friends, colleagues, ... can celebrate separately, but still together. This can also be a solution for companies that are still looking for an alternative "end-of-year party on distance" for their employees”.

Musical and tasty party in a playpen

The "Dinner by Marcelo" - box was put together by top chef Marcelo Ballardin, who calls on Master Patissier Roger van Damme for the dessert. The box contains a cocktail, a festive three-course menu and a bottle of wine for 2 people. A nice extra is the playlist with music that completes the experience

Marcelo Ballardin, owner of the Ghent restaurants OAK and Door73 and known from television programmes 'Snackmasters' & 'My Kitchen My Restaurant': "With this initiative I combine two things I love: pamper people with delicious food and create connection between people, even in these challenging times".

Practical: easy online ordering, fast delivery

Solucious is the logistics partner in this story. Colruyt Group's food service company makes the boxes, brings them to the associations and, if necessary, organises a corona-proof collection point together with them. Van den Brande: "We also give them some digital tools so that they can easily sell the "Dinner By Marcelo" box according to the applicable corona measures. Because we deliver everything fresh, the association can change their order up to two days in advance, which gives them extra flexibility".

Youth movements can order their boxes via www.solucious.be/dinnerbox. There they will also find all the practical details. For companies, a different ordering process is provided; they can contact Solucious via www.solucious.be/dinnerbymarcelo.

#caringfortomorrow

It is not the first initiative in which Solucious is actively participating in these times of crisis. Already in the spring, the company delivered hospital workers' groceries to their work place, and since a few weeks, care workers have been able to have their groceries delivered to their homes by a Solucious driver under the motto "You take care, we deliver".
