Revamped Okay Stene to reopen as a sustainable neighbourhood supermarket on 10 April

With a refurbished freshmart, additional cooling cabinets and a Collect&Go collection point

On Wednesday 10 April, Okay Stekene will reopen its doors after undergoing a thorough facelift. The local supermarket with a 646 m² store surface area has been renovated in the style of the latest generation of Okay stores, with a refurbished freshmart, additional cooling cabinets, a revamped checkout area, and a Collect&Go collection point, making shopping at Okay Stekene even easier. During the renovation, considerable efforts were made to minimise the environmental footprint. Store manager Sarah Cornu and her team look forward to welcoming their customers.

Focus on fresh products and daily fresh bread

The fresh and modern design of Okay Stekene helps customers find their way around the varied fresh products range. "In the renewed freshmart, it's easy to choose from our ample offer of fruit and vegetables, dairy, meat, fish and ready-made meals, all tasty and fresh like you're used to at Okay," store manager Olivier explains. “Also, we have created extra room right outside the freshmart for a wide range of meat, fish and veggie snacks and delicious pastries."

In Okay Stekene, the store personnel bakes off quality bread, breakfast rolls and buns on site. Customers can easily find them in the well-organised bread corner. “The checkout area received an overhaul and customers can now also pick up their Collect&Go order at our store," says Sarah, who has been part of Okay Stekene's store team since its opening in 2004 and has been a store manager there for several years now. ​

All these novelties and improvements contribute to a more pleasant shopping experience and make shopping even more efficient. "And every day, a great team of 14 motivated employees is ready to help our customers.With a smile. All of them people from the region, for whom customer friendliness, good service and helpfulness always come first.

Minimal environmental impact

Like the other Colruyt Group store formats, Okay is firmly committed to building sustainably and with a minimal ecological footprint. No gas or fuel oil is used at Okay Stekene. The store's eco-friendly cooling emits 90% less CO2 than traditional cooling installations. In addition, the heat released by the cooling and ventilation system is recovered to heat the store.

Easy to reach by car, by bicycle or on foot

Okay Stekene has a very practical location, close to the village centre and easily accessible to everyone The spacious and easily accessible car park offers room for 53 vehicles, and has two charging stations for electric vehicles. In the bicycle shed, cargo bikes can also be secured.
