Colruyt Lochristi reopening: completely revamped store with a focus on sustainability

The Colruyt Lowest Prices store in Lochristi will reopen its doors on Wednesday, 10 July 2024. The store on Antwerpsesteenweg was treated to an optimised shopping route, renewed butcher’s section and bread cabinet. The checkout area was also redesigned. Moreover, extra attention was devoted to sustainability during the works. Colruyt Lochristi customers will now find it even more enjoyable to shop at the lowest prices, and can also start using the Collect&Go collection point once again.

Optimised shopping route and renewed butcher’s section

From now on, shopping at Colruyt Lochristi is even more enjoyable and efficient thanks to the optimised shopping route that covers no less than 2,044 m2 of retail space.

​Fish and vegetarian options from the fresh market can now be found together with meat products in the renewed butcher’s section, making shopping easy and convenient for customers. Also worth discovering is the revamped stand with daily fresh-baked and pre-packaged bread.

​The checkout and payment units are now lower and more compact. This has resulted in a more convenient, open checkout area where store co-workers are still approachable.

Welcome back to Collect&Go

Customers can also start using the Collect&Go collection point in Lochristi once again. Collect&Go is Colruyt Group’s convenient online shopping service. Customers send in their shopping list via collectandgo.be, the Xtra app, or the Collect&Go app. Store co-workers have their products ready at the collection point by the day and time of the customer’s choice.

Extra focus on sustainability

The entire store in Lochristi has energy-efficient LED lights that work using a sensor, meaning they save up to 30% energy. The residual heat from the cooling system is recovered and as much as 75% is reused by the ventilation system to heat the store. The car park now has new, extra-wide bike racks.

Opening night Tuesday, 9 July

Manager Wim Verstreken explains, “We and the entire team of 40 store co-workers and 11 butchers are looking forward to welcoming our customers back. We would therefore like to invite them to be the first to learn about the revamped store during our open house from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, 9 July. Hope to see you then!”
