Brand-new Colruyt Deinze opens its doors on Wednesday 3 May

Broad range of fresh products in double-size fresh market

Tuesday, May 2, 2023

On Wednesday 3 May 2023, the Colruyt Lowest Prices store in Deinze will open its doors. The store on Gampelaeredreef was completely demolished and rebuilt into a more sustainable store of roughly 2,300 m2. Customers will also still have a Collect&Go pick-up point at their disposal. The car park is currently being extended and will be equipped with charging posts for electric cars.

Larger freshmart and open workshop in butcher's department

The new Colruyt Deinze store is a lot bigger than the previous one. With its 2,300 m2, it offers customers a broad selection of high-quality products at the lowest prices. Store manager Sarah De Vlieger: "The fresh market has doubled in size. Customers can now find an even wider choice of products such as fruits and vegetables, salads, cheese or ready-to-eat meals. The brand-new butcher's department has been fitted with an open workshop where you can see our butchers at work. They cut the meat on site and customers can ask questions or place special orders."

Collect&Go does your shopping for you

In Deinze, customers can continue to use the Collect&Go pick-up point as they could during the works. The pick-up point will be revamped in September 2023. Collect&Go is Colruyt Group's convenient online shopping service. Customers send their shopping lists to collectandgo.be or through the app and co-workers have their products ready at the pick-up point by the day and time of their choice.

Extra focus on sustainability

As always, Colruyt focused on sustainability when building Colruyt Deinze. The low-energy store runs on green power, supplied in part by the solar panels on the roof. Besides solar power, rainwater is also cleverly used: it is used to flush the toilets and, in case of abundant rainfall, excess water can drain into the soil via the water-permeable paving stones, thus relieving the sewer system. The store also has LED lights with a sensor everywhere, which saves up to 30 % energy, and the residual heat from the cooling units is recovered.

Spacious, renovated car park

The store's car park will be given a complete makeover in the months ahead. During the works, the car park will offer 50 spaces, a capacity that will be increased to 161 spaces as of November. Two charging posts will also be installed, allowing 4 electric cars to be charged, as well as 40 bicycle brackets to enable customers to safely secure their (cargo) bikes. Colruyt Deinze also has a DATS 24 station, which means that you can conveniently combine fuelling and shopping.
