Bike Republic expands with brand new bike store in Asse

Colruyt Group cycling specialist hits milestone of 30 stores in Belgium

Colruyt Group's Bike Republic is expanding with a brand-new store in Asse, already one of its biggest outlets with the widest range on offer. With this retail unit in the Afi Retail Park on the Brusselsesteenweg in Asse, Bike Republic is expanding its footprint in the Brussels periphery. The new outlet is Bike Republic's 30th store, making the bike specialist the largest chain of bicycle stores in Flanders. Supported by a broad expansion strategy, Bike Republic wants to continue to realise its ambitions to offer a wide range of bikes such as e-bikes, speed pedelecs, cargo bikes and longtail bikes, and services such as repair, maintenance and leasing to its customers.

The ‘Travelling companion’ in the Brussels periphery

Bike Republic wants to be a travelling companion for its customers whenever they need assistance. Someone who rides with them, someone they can rely on, so that all they have to do is enjoy the ride in a care-free manner. Ideally, such a travelling companion also needs to be close. That is why, in addition to service and craftsmanship, accessibility is also a major focus. Both on and offline. Wim Teerlynck, managing director of Bike Republic: “Our ambition is to offer a full service to our customers based on proximity, a wide network of stores, and definitely also via service points and mobile services. With this new outlet in Asse, we now also have a store west of Brussels perfectly located between our stores in Aalst, Grimbergen and Groot-Bijgaarden.”

Not just a store, also a workshop

Cycling enthusiasts will find e-bikes, speed pedelecs, touring bikes, racing bikes, mountain bikes, gravel bikes, cargo bikes and longtail bikes in Asse. With the chain’s widest range, the store will immediately become one of Bike Republic's biggest stores in Belgium. Quality remains a priority: the store will be stocking top brands such as Trek, Gazelle, Scott, Norta, Flyer, Oxford, Klever, O2Feel, Tern, QiO, Opium and Aska. Teerlynck: “In our store, four knowledgeable experts guide our customers through the range and everyone can take a test ride with their dream bike. We also have professionals working in the workshop to maintain and repair bicycles, whether they were purchased from Bike Republic or not. High-quality service, also after sales, is really one of our focus points. That’s why we also have replacement bikes for those who bring their two-wheeler to our workshop.”

Companies also welcome at Bike Republic Asse

It’s not just private customers who are welcome at Bike Republic Asse. Companies, big and small, can purchase or lease company bicycles there as well. Company bikes and bicycle leasing in particular are on the rise: not only is a company bicycle up to 50% cheaper for the employee thanks to the salary sacrifice ('loonruil') scheme; it is also cost-neutral for the employer. Bike Republic's B2B department even puts together a custom bicycle mobility plan to fully support company or HR managers by taking care of everything for them. This enables employers to easily make the mobility of their employees more sustainable and, above all, more efficient.
