On Friday 5 July, Okay Knesselaere, located on Urselseweg, will reopen its doors after undergoing a thorough facelift. The local supermarket with a 650 m² store surface area has been renovated in the style of the latest generation of Okay stores and has undergone several improvements including a renovated bread corner, a refurbished freshmart, additional cooling cabinets and a revamped checkout area. This makes shopping even easier at Okay Knesselare. During the renovation, considerable efforts were made to minimise the environmental footprint. Store manager Eef Roosebrouck and her team look forward to welcoming back their customers.

Focus on fresh products and daily fresh bread

The fresh and modern look of Okay Knesselare is designed to help customers find their way around the varied fresh products range. "In the revamped freshmart, it's easy to choose from our ample offer of fruit and vegetables, dairy, meat, charcuterie, fish and ready-made meals, all tasty and fresh like you're used to at Okay," store manager Eef explains. "Right outside the freshmart, we've also installed some additional cooling cabinets, offering an extensive choice of meat, fish and vegetarian appetisers to enjoy with family or friends."

In Okay Knesselare, the store personnel bakes off quality bread, breakfast rolls and buns on site, which are all neatly and orderly displayed in the renewed, well-organised bread corner. "The checkout area also received an overhaul making payment at the checkout even smoother and faster from now on," Eef explains.

All these novelties and improvements contribute to a more pleasant shopping experience and make shopping even more efficient. "And every day, a great team of 10 motivated employees is ready to help our customers. All of them local people, for whom customer friendliness, good service and helpfulness always come first.

Minimal environmental impact

Like the other Colruyt Group store formats, Okay is firmly committed to building sustainably and with a minimal ecological footprint. No gas or fuel oil is used at Okay Knesselare. All energy is generated by the own solar panels and the store's LED lighting uses 30% less electricity. The store's eco-friendly cooling emits 90% less CO2 than traditional cooling installations. The heat released by the cooling and ventilation system is recovered to heat the store. The car park is paved with water-permeable paving stones, allowing rainwater to steadily seep into the ground to replenish the soil water, thus also relieving the sewer system. The special, air-purifying paint with which the façade was treated, is also more beneficial for the environment.

Easy to reach by car and bicycle

OKay Knesselare is very conveniently located on Urselseweg, a connecting road near the village centre, so it is easily reachable for everyone. The spacious and easily accessible car park offers room for 48 vehicles and has two charging stations for electric vehicles. Bikes can also be safely secured.
