Stefaan Vandamme will hand over the role of CFO Colruyt Group to Michael Hamelryck effective 1 August 2026. Stefaan Vandamme will become a partner at the majority shareholder Korys.

Stefaan Vandamme joined Colruyt Group in June 2016 and was appointed CFO of the group in February 2019. In this role, he made a significant contribution to the further professionalisation and stability of our finance organisation, during a period characterised by growth, complex financial matters and exceptional external challenges. Over time, Stefaan also gradually took on additional responsibilities, including the role of COO for the non-food banners.

After ten years of commitment within the group, Stefaan Vandamme will take on a new professional challenge as a partner within the family holding of the Colruyt family (Korys) starting August 2026.

Stefaan Vandamme looks back on his journey with satisfaction: “After ten formative years, I look back with pride on the achievements realised and the opportunities I was given within the organisation. At the same time, I look ahead with pride and ambition to the next step in my professional journey.”

Jef Colruyt, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Colruyt Group: “I would like to expressly thank Stefaan for his dedication, expertise and commitment, and wish him every success in this new chapter.”

Stefaan Vandamme will be succeeded as CFO Colruyt Group by Michael Hamelryck as of 1 August 2026. After a six-year career in the banking sector at KBC Group, Michael Hamelryck joined Colruyt Group in November 2019 within Treasury and progressed to Divisional Manager Group Finance, where he was responsible for Treasury, Insurance, Customer Payments, Tax and Legal. He professionalised several financial and corporate support services and played a key role in major financing operations (such as the launch of a retail bond). He also left his mark on the optimisation of payment processes and the group’s risk management approach.

Stefan Goethaert, CEO Colruyt Group: “I am convinced that Michael, with his knowledge of the group, his leadership and his broad experience within Finance, will ensure the continuity of the finance management and help steer our group successfully through the very challenging retail landscape.”
