Neighbourhood supermarket Okay with Bon’Ap shop

On Friday 24 April, the former Smatch store in Wachtebeke will reopen as an Okay with Bon’Ap. A Buurtslagers butcher’s shop, part of the Meat&More group, of which Bon’Ap is also part, was already located there.

An Martel, Director of Okay: "The final destinations of the stores we acquired from Smatch and Match have been known for some time now. In East and West Flanders, we are reopening several stores as Okay. In four of those stores, we are partnering with Bon’Ap, including this new Okay Wachtebeke. We are pleased to offer customers in this region all the strengths of Okay: bread and pastries baked on site, a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables and an extensive convenience assortment. Alongside Okay’s familiar range, customers will also find Bon’Ap’s extensive offer, including ready-made sandwiches, charcuterie, fresh meat and prepared meals. This allows us to offer customers a range that showcases the strengths of both partners.”

Two partners, one checkout

Ellen Satyn, store manager of Okay Wachtebeke, is already looking forward to this unique collaboration: "With our team, we are ready every day, including Sunday mornings, to serve our customers. For both our colleagues and our customers, the complete offer will be a major added value. The shopping convenience for which both Okay and Bon’Ap are known remains central. Customers can simply pay for all their purchases together at the Okay checkout.”"

Geert and William Ally, Directors of Meat&More, are also enthusiastic about the partnership with Okay: “For both our customers and our employees, we are very pleased to enter into this renewed collaboration between Okay and Bon’Ap, after the years during which Buurtslagers was present at this location. Okay is a strong partner and, with the well-known high-quality products of Buurtslagers complemented by Bon’Ap’s meal range, we see the future with confidence.

Customers in the store will be welcomed and assisted by a motivated team of 10 Okay employees, several of whom also worked at the former Smatch store, and 6 Bon’Ap employees. Some Bon’Ap employees also previously worked for Buurtslagers, while new faces are joining the team as well.
