With refurbished freshmart, additional cooling cabinets and renovated checkout area

Tuesday, February 27, 2024

On Friday 1 March, Okay Kortemark reopens its doors after undergoing a thorough facelift. The local supermarket with a 641 m² store surface area has been renovated in the style of the latest generation of Okay stores, with a refurbished freshmart, additional cooling cabinets and a revamped checkout area, among other things. This makes shopping even easier at Okay Kortemark. During the renovation, considerable efforts were made to minimise the environmental footprint. Store manager Olivier De Jaeghere and his team look forward to welcoming their customers again.

Focus on fresh products and daily fresh bread

The fresh and modern design of Okay Kortemark helps customers find their way around the varied fresh products range. “In the renewed freshmart, it's easy to choose from our ample offer of fruit and vegetables, dairy, meat, fish and ready-made meals, tasty and fresh like you are used to at Okay," store manager Olivier says. "Also, we have created extra room for a wide range of meat, fish and veggie snacks of the finest quality and delicious pastries."

In Okay Kortemark, the store personnel bakes off quality bread, breakfast rolls and buns on site. Customers can easily find them in the well-organised bread corner. 'The checkout area also received an overhaul', Olivier adds.

All these novelties and improvements contribute to a more pleasant shopping experience and make shopping even more efficient. "And every day, a team of 11 motivated employees is ready to help our customers. With a smile. All of them people from the region, for whom customer friendliness, good service and helpfulness always come first.”

Minimal environmental impact

Like the other Colruyt Group store formats, Okay is firmly committed to building sustainably and with a minimal ecological footprint. No gas or fuel oil is used at Okay Kortemark. The store's eco-friendly cooling emits 90% less CO2 than traditional cooling installations. Moreover, heat released by the refrigeration system is recovered to heat the store. The car park is paved with water-permeable paving stones, allowing excess water to drain into the soil, thus relieving the sewer system.

Easy to reach by car, by bicycle or on foot

Okay Kortemark is practically located, along the major access road Lichterveldestraat and within biking and walking distance of the village centre, so it is easy to reach for everyone. The spacious and easily accessible car park offers room for 55 cars, and has 4 charging stations for electric vehicles. In the bicycle shed, cargo bikes can also be secured.
