On Wednesday 15 May, Okay Ganshoren will reopen its doors after undergoing a thorough facelift. The local supermarket with a 630 m² store surface area has been renovated in the style of the latest generation of Okay stores, with a refurbished freshmart, additional cooling cabinets and an upgraded bread corner, among other things. This makes shopping even easier at Okay Ganshoren. During the renovation, considerable efforts were made to minimise the environmental footprint. Store manager Laurent Chauvin and his team are looking forward to welcoming back their customers.
Focus on fresh products and daily fresh bread
The fresh and modern look of Okay Ganshoren is designed to help customers find their way around the varied fresh products range. "In the freshmart, the wide aisles ensure a pleasant shopping experience. It's easy to choose from our ample offer of fruit and vegetables, dairy, meat, cold cuts, fish and ready-made meals, tasty and fresh like you are used to at Okay," store manager Laurent says. "Right outside the freshmart, we've also installed some additional cooling cabinets, offering an extensive choice of meat, fish and vegetarian appetisers to enjoy with family or friends."
In Okay Ganshoren, the store personnel bakes off quality bread, breakfast rolls and buns on site, which are all neatly and orderly displayed in the well-organised bread corner.
All these novelties and improvements contribute to a more pleasant shopping experience and make shopping even more efficient. "And every day, a great team of 14 motivated employees is ready to help our customers. With a smile. All of them local people, for whom customer friendliness, good service and helpfulness always come first.”
Minimal environmental impact
Like the other Colruyt Group store formats, Okay is firmly committed to building sustainably and with a minimal ecological footprint. Okay Ganshoren runs entirely on green electricity, no gas or fuel oil is used. Not only does the store's eco-friendly cooling emit 90% less CO2 than traditional cooling installations, the energy-efficient LED lamps also use 30% less electricity. The façade has been treated with special, air-purifying paint.
Easy to reach by car and bicycle
Okay Ganshoren has a very practical location and is easily accessible to everyone. The spacious and easily accessible car park offers room for 38 vehicles, and has eight charging stations for electric vehicles. In the bicycle shed, cargo bikes can also be secured.
