Reopening of the Colruyt Store in Gerpinnes

A Renovation Focused on Sustainable Choices

On Wednesday, 8 July 2026, the Colruyt Lowest Prices store in Gerpinnes will reopen its doors. The store on Chaussée de Philippeville has been expanded and its product range has been broadened. Customers will once again be able to do their shopping there at the lowest prices. The store now features a more modern butcher's department and a new bread unit. In addition, particular attention was paid to sustainability throughout the renovation. The 27 store employees and 6 butchers are ready to welcome customers to the renewed store.

2000 m² of Lowest Prices

The store now covers nearly 2000 m². Store manager Maxime Vander Becken is looking forward to welcoming customers back: "Thanks to our spacious store, my colleagues and I can offer a wide range of high-quality products, both major brands and our own brands, always at the lowest prices. The store layout has also been redesigned to make the shopping experience as pleasant and efficient as possible. "
The new bread unit ensures the quality of the day's fresh bread baked daily and speeds up checkout. In addition, the store is now equipped with a Sushi Corner offering a variety of Asian specialities.

Modernised Butcher's Department

Customers will notice several changes in the butcher's department. Cold cuts are now located in the renovated butcher's department, alongside fresh meat, in closed glass-door refrigerators. Maxime Vander Becke explains: "Customers will now find cold cuts, pre-packed fresh meat, fish and vegetarian products all in one place. For any questions, they can turn to our butchery staff, who are available to provide advice and additional information. "

Smart Checkout System

All checkouts at Colruyt Gerpinnes are now equipped with "Easy Check-out", an innovative checkout system powered by artificial intelligence. A camera above each till/checkout automatically scans products using artificial intelligence as they are transferred from one trolley to another. This technology speeds up the checkout process and provides an ergonomic working environment for store employees. Colruyt is investing in a smart new system that enhances the customer experience while making employees' work mor efficient and enjoyable.

Order Your Shopping Again via Collect&Go

Customers who want to save even more time can once again have the option of having their shopping prepared by reserving them via Collect&Go, Colruyt Group's online shopping service. Colruyt Gerpinnes offers two options: customers can either collect their shopping at the store's collection point or have it delivered to their home. Deliveries are carried out by Drivers, local private couriers who are paid for their service.

Focus on Sustainability

The Colruyt store in Gerpinnes now meets all of Colruyt Group's sustainability requirements, with a particular attention to energy efficiency in insulation, ventilation, lighting, cooling and heating. The store recovers heat from its refrigeration systems and generates its own energy through photovoltaic panels. Rainwater is collected and used for cleaning the store, reducing pressure on the sewer system. Finally, low energy LED lighting with motion detectors provides an energy saving of around 30%. Sustainability also extends to the car park which offers more than 140 spaces, 6 bicycle racks for up to 12 bikes and 5 charging stations for electric vehicles.

Festive Reopening and Welcome Discounts

Maxime Vander Becken: "Together with my team of 27 in-store employees and 6 butchers, we look forward to welcoming our customers with drinks and snacks during the reopening week. Welcome discounts will also be available. We warmly invite everyone to come and discover the renewed store! "
