Colruyt Dilbeek reopens

refurbished store with a strong focus on sustainability

On Wednesday 28 October 2026, the Colruyt store in Dilbeek will reopen its doors. The store on Ninoofsesteenweg, including its newly refurbished butcher's department, has undergone an extensive renovation. The store layout has also been optimised, making shopping even more convenient and enjoyable for customers, while continuing to offer the lowest prices. Sustainability was a key focus throughout the refurbishment. The renewed store is ready to welcome customers with a team of 30 store co-workers and 6 butchers.

Store size nearly doubled and butcher's department refurbished

Shopping in Colruyt Dilbeek is now more enjoyable than ever, thanks to a sales area that has almost doubled in size: from 800 m² to 1,500 m². The number of chest freezers in the frozen food section has tripled, while the fresh market area has doubled in size. The product range has also been significantly expanded, including the addition of a sushi corner.

Customers will notice several improvements in the butcher’s department. The deli and vegetarian ranges have now been integrated into the department. Store manager Frederik Elsoucht: "Customers can now find our meat products, freshly prepared with care every day by our butchers, alongside our deli and vegetarian ranges in one convenient location. They can also speak directly to our butchers for advice or to place a customised order."

Additional focus on sustainability and electric vehicle charging

Sustainable construction is a key priority for Colruyt Group. As the group's real estate partner, Nirmana Real Estate oversaw the renovation of Colruyt Dilbeek, with sustainability at the heart of the project. Heat recovered from the refrigeration system is used to help heat the store. The refrigeration system uses propane, reducing its CO₂ footprint by more than 90%. Thanks to energy-efficient LED lighting with sensors, the store reduces its energy consumption by 30%. Sustainability is also reflected in the car park, where 10 extra-wide bicycle racks under a canopy accommodate up to 20 bicycles. The car park features permeable paving and electric vehicle charging stations. In addition, in total, it offers almost 100 parking spaces, including 10 spaces for electric vehicle charging: 6 fast chargers and 4 standard charging points.

Festive reopening and welcome discounts

On Tuesday, 27 October 2026, a special reopening evening with drinks and snacks will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Frederik Elsoucht: "Together with my team of 30 store co-workers and 6 butchers, I am looking forward to welcoming our customers during the reopening week. During the first few weeks, customers will also benefit from a range of welcome discounts. We look forward to welcoming them back and introducing them to our expanded range."
