Reopening Colruyt Sint-Niklaas (Nijverheidsstraat)

Renovated store with an eye for sustainability

On Wednesday 29 July 2026, the Colruyt Lowest Prices store in Sint-Niklaas will reopen its doors. The store on Nijverheidsstraat has been thoroughly renovated and features a revamped butcher’s department and a new bakery section. The store layout has also been optimised to make shopping even more pleasant while continuing to offer the lowest prices. Customers can pick up their groceries at the brand-new Collect&Go pick-up point. Sustainability was a key focus throughout the works. In the renovated store, 41 store
co-workers and 7 butchers are ready to welcome customers.

Optimised shopping route and renovated butcher's department

Shopping in Colruyt Sint-Niklaas is now even more pleasant and efficient thanks to the optimised shopping route of almost 1,800 m² of retail space. Customers will notice several improvements in the butcher’s department. The charcuterie range has been integrated into the revamped butcher’s department. Store manager Davy De Tender: “Customers can find all their meat products — freshly prepared every day by our butchers — in one central area.
They can also see the butchers at work in the open butcher's workshop, and easily approach them with any questions or special requests.” The bakery section has also been upgraded to help maintain the quality of freshly baked bread and speed up checkout. In addition, the store now has a Sushi Corner with various Asian specialities.

Pick up or home delivery at new Collect&Go pick-up point

Those who prefer to pick up their groceries can do so at the brand new Collect&Go pick-up point at Colruyt Sint-Niklaas. Collect&Go is Colruyt Group's convenient online shopping service. Customers simply place their order via collectandgo.be or the Xtra app.
Our co-workers then prepare the order for collection at the selected time slot. Customers can also opt for home delivery, using Drivers— local private couriers from the area.

Extra attention to sustainability

Sustainable construction is essential for Colruyt Group. This was therefore also a key focus during the renovation of Colruyt Sint-Niklaas. For example, we are investing in a new refrigeration system in which we also use heat recovery to heat our store. We use propane for this cooling, which reduces the CO2footprint of the cooling by more than 90%.
Thanks to energy-efficient LED lighting with sensors, the store uses up to 30% less energy. Sustainability is also put into practice in the car park with 15 extra wide bicycle racks with space for 30 bicycles. In addition, the car park has 146 parking spaces, which are also available outside opening hours for local residents and to drop off and pick up children at the school.

Festive reopening and welcome discounts

Davy De Tender: "Together with my team of 41 store co-workers and 7 butchers, I look forward to welcoming our customers with a snack and a drink during the reopening week. During the first few weeks, customers will also benefit from welcome discounts. We warmly invite all customers to come and discover our store and we'll be happy to assist them.”
