Renovated Okay Crisnée reopens on 27 June as a sustainable local supermarket

With a redesigned bakery corner, refreshed freshmart and additional refrigerated units

On Friday 27 June, the Okay store in Crisnée will reopen its doors on Chaussée Verte following extensive renovation works. With a surface area of 650 m², the local supermarket now reflects the new-generation store design, including a revamped bakery corner, a refreshed freshmart, additional refrigerated units and a redesigned checkout area where customers can now also pay quickly and easily using the new Assisted Self-Checkout zone. The renovation placed particular emphasis on improving the customer experience and reducing the environmental footprint. Store manager Sébastien Van Der Straeten and his team are excited to welcome customers back.

Expanded range of fresh products

The Okay store in Crisnée has been modernised. This fresh new layout allows customers to navigate more easily through the wide range of fresh products. Sébastien, store manager: “In the updated freshmart, it's easier to make your selection from our extensive range of fruit and vegetables, dairy products, meat, cold cuts, fish and freshly prepared dishes – all of which are central to what Okay stands for. In addition to the freshmart, we now have extra refrigerated units offering a broad selection of meat, fish and veggie appetisers – perfect for a family aperitif or a get-together with friends.”

Modernised bakery corner and more energy-efficient freezers

At Okay Crisnée, our employees bake high-quality bread, pastries and rolls several times a day, which are then displayed in the newly designed bakery corner. “The frozen food section has also been improved: customers can now find their favourites more easily thanks to our new, energy-efficient chest freezers with glass lids. We also renovated the checkout area to make payment even faster and easier,” adds Sébastien.

New Assisted Self-Checkout system

The checkout zone has been completely revamped to offer an even quicker and smoother shopping experience. “The key innovation is the introduction of two Assisted Self-Checkout stations,” explains Sébastien. “They allow customers to scan and pay for their groceries quickly and easily themselves.”

Thanks to these upgrades, the in-store experience has clearly improved in Crisnée. “Our 11 employees are highly motivated. They look forward to helping customers explore all the new features. They’re all local, and for them, a warm smile and top-quality service are at the heart of the Okay shopping experience.”

Minimum environmental footprint

Like the rest of Colruyt Group, Okay places great importance on sustainable store renovations, aiming for the smallest possible environmental impact. All of our stores – including Crisnée – run on green energy and no longer use fossil fuels. Our eco-friendly refrigeration system reduces CO2 emissions by 90% compared to conventional systems. Furthermore, residual heat from refrigeration is reused to heat the store.

Easy to access

Okay Crisnée is ideally located on the Chaussée Verte, a major road linking the E40 motorway exit to the town centre. As a result, the store is easily accessible for everyone. The spacious car park with 56 spaces is also equipped with 2 charging stations for 4 electric vehicles.
