From Comarkt to Okay with Bon'Ap

On Friday 3 April, the Comarkt in Mariakerke will reopen as an Okay-store featuring Bon'Ap. The former Comarkt in Mariakerke already housed a Buurtslagers counter, part of the Meat&More group, which also includes Bon'Ap.

Christophe Dehandschutter, director of Okay, explains: "The final destinations of our Comarkt stores have been known for some time now In East and West Flanders, several Comarkt stores will reopen as Okay stores. In four of these locations, we are partnering with Bon’Ap — including this new Okay in Mariakerke. Alongside Okay's familiar range, customers will also find Bon'Ap's extensive offering, including freshly prepared sandwiches, cold cuts, fresh meat and ready meals. This allows us to offer our customers a selection that showcases the strengths of both partners.”

Two partners, one checkout

Benjamin Broeckaert, store manager of Okay Mariakerke, is already looking forward to this unique collaboration: "Together with our team, we are ready to serve our customers every day, including Sunday mornings. For both colleagues and customers, this complete package will offer real added value. The ease of shopping that both Okay and Bon'Ap are known for remains central. Customers can simply pay for all their purchases together at the Okay checkout." Okay continues to guarantee fresh fruits & vegetables, pastries, bread baked fresh every day, fish, vegetarian options.

Geert and William Ally, directors of Meat&More, are equally enthusiastic about the partnership with Okay: "For both our customers and our employees, we are very pleased to enter into this renewed Okay-Bon'App collaboration, following the many years Buurtslagers operated at this location. Okay is a strong partner, and with Buurtslagers' well-known quality products, complemented by Bon'Ap's meal range, we look to the future with confidence."

Customers will be welcomed and assisted by a motivated team of 7 Okay employees and 5 Bon’Ap employees. Some of them already worked in the former Comarkt and Buurtslagers, while new colleagues are also joining the team.
