Okay City keeps growing: tenth Okay City city store opens in Uccle

open 7 days out of 7

On Wednesday 21 January, Okay City, the urban convenience format of neighbourhood supermarket Okay, will open a new store on Alsembergsesteenweg in Uccle. Customers will find everything for their daily shopping at guaranteed low prices, as prices are adjusted daily to match the prices and promotions of nearby supermarkets. This new opening marks the 10th Okay City city store in the Brussels-Capital Region and the 24th Okay City store in Belgium.

Even More Convenience for City Shoppers

Just like in all Okay stores, shopping at Okay City is always quick and easy. The city stores are designed to help customers to find what they need even faster, all within easy walking or cycling distance of home or work. This is now also the case in Uccle, with a brand-new store with a surface area of almost 400 m2. It offers customers a full range of everyday essentials. From drinks, laundry and household products to a wide range of fresh produce, including fruit, meat, fish, bread, and pastries. Customers can also stop by at Okay City in Uccle for a quick coffee, a freshly orepared sandwich or a ready-to-eat meal.

Guaranteed Low Prices and Open 7 Days a Week

Okay City not only focuses on convenience, but also on helping customers manage their budget. That's why the chain compares its prices and promotions daily with those of nearby supermarkets and adjusts them whenever necessary. This means Okay City customers benefit from strong promotions and guaranteed low prices, without having to compare everything themselves.

"For people living nearby, we are the ideal stop on the way home. Tasty fresh fruit and vegetables, bread for the next morning, a quick solution for dinner ... Here, you will find everything in one place, always at an affordable price,” says city manager Célia Voumbo. Together with a team of 7 permanent store employees, she is ready to welcome all customers with a smile. The store is open seven days a week, including Sunday mornings (from 8 a.m. to 12 noon).

Committed to the Environment

Like the other Colruyt Group store formats, Okay City is firmly committed to building sustainably and with a minimal ecological footprint. The new Okay City in Uccle uses no gas or fuel oil and is equipped with an environmentally friendly cooling system that emits 90% less CO2 than traditional installations. Heat recovered from the refrigeration system is reused to heat the store, and energy-efficient LED lighting reduces electricity consumption by 30%.

Future-focused

The opening of this new Okay City store fits perfectly with Colruyt Group's ambition to also offer more relevant retail store formats in urban environments, where consumers can do their shopping easily and affordably. There are now 24 Okay City stores in Belgium. The new store in Uccle is the 10th Okay City store in the Brussels-Capital Region.
