All Okay Stores Open on Sundays from 2026

Starting this Sunday, 4 January, customers will also be able to visit all Okay neighbourhood supermarkets on Sunday mornings for their groceries, pastries and bread rolls. This makes Okay the first fully integrated supermarket chain in Belgium to open its doors on Sundays. The Okay Sunday openings offer a response to the growing customer demand for greater flexibility.  An agreement has also been reached for employees, taking maximum account of their needs and wishes. Within Colruyt Group, in addition to all Okay stores, the Okay City and Okay Direct stores are also open on Sundays, as are the Cru fresh markets. Most Spar Colruyt Group and Comarkt stores are also open on Sundays. Colruyt stores at the coast and in the Ardennes open on Sunday mornings during busy tourist periods.  

From 2026 onwards, customers will be able to shop at Okay on Sundays between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for their groceries, pastries and bread rolls. During the first Sundays, Okay will offer strong 1+1 promotions on bakery products. On Sunday 4 January, Okay expects to sell no fewer than 16,000 croissants.  

The Sunday morning opening provides the flexibility customers are looking for, while Okay has also taken into account the impact on staff. Christophe Dehandschutter, Director of Okay, explains: "Customers clearly want the option to do their shopping on Sundays, although we are of course aware that this requires an additional effort from our colleagues. That is why we engaged in extensive dialogue with our social partners and achieved a win-win situation for everyone.”   

Okay is the fully integrated local store of Colruyt Group with 152 stores and 2800 co-workers. The stores offer a complete range for daily shopping, with particular emphasis on fresh products. In addition, there is extensive bakery assortment. Okay is therefore the ideal Colruyt Group format to open additionally on Sundays, alongside the 23 Okay City and 3 Okay Direct stores, the 4 Cru markets and the Comarkt stores. Most Spar Colruyt Group stores are also open on Sundays. Colruyt stores on the coast and in the Ardennes are open on Sunday mornings during busy tourist periods.
