Ewa Jankowiak has been appointed General Manager of Vasco International Trading B.V., a new international buying alliance for purchasing leading multinational brands. In this new role, she oversees the organization’s daily operations, working with a team of specialists in the international buying market. With over 20 years of experience in the food and retail industry, Janowiak is well-positioned to lead and further develop the newly established international buying alliance.

Vasco International Trading B.V. aims to enhance the purchasing effectiveness of its shareholders (Coop Group (Switzerland), Colruyt Group (Belgium), and Superunie (The Netherlands)) and to re-establish a level playing field to secure competitive terms and conditions for FMCG goods from international major brand suppliers. With the establishment of this new independent company, the three participants are responding to developments in the international procurement market.

Jankowiak most recently served as Vice President of Cycles & Procurement Europe at Danone, a company she has been with for the past seven years. Prior to that, she held various commercial roles across multiple geographies at Metro and Makro Cash & Carry, part of Metro AG. Taking on leadership of the new independent alliance, Jankowiak will focus on building the organization with a team of international buying experts.

With Jankowiak's appointment, Vasco International Trading takes an important step in further developing the alliance. Ewa Jankowiak: "It is a privilege to join Vasco International Trading at this pivotal stage. I am looking forward to further strengthen the collective impact of the shareholders and, through enhanced international procurement, delivering greater value to our customers and partners."

Jankowiak and the complete team started at the beginning of May in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.  In the coming weeks, the new General Manager, along with the team, will prepare for the first negotiations set to begin in September of this year.
