A new generation shop
The new Colruyt Beaufrays has been built according to the new generation shop model. The manager Christophe Guillaume explains: “The old Colruyt had become too cramped and no longer allowed us to provide our customers with an optimum service. The commercial area in the new shop has doubled compared to the previous store and now covers almost 1,900 m². In addition to offering a wider range, Colruyt has also designed this shop to be more efficient and above all more user friendly for its customers. And with the shop being larger it has been possible to create 9 new jobs.”
Low energy shop
The façades and roof of the new shop have been fitted with insulation which is more efficient than the prescribed legal requirements. The building has also benefited from a better, more hermetic finish. So Colruyt Beaufrays is now a low energy shop, enabling the transition towards sustainable technologies, such as a propene cooling system or a heat pump for producing hot water. “This project is part of a much wider renovation plan: by 2029, all Colruyt Group shops must be designed according to the low energy model. The group’s CO2 emission rates should then decrease by a further 4%”, says the manager.
An all-new butcher’s counter with open work room
The self-service butcher’s counter has had a total make-over. The head butcher Sébastien Prieto explains: “The customers have a better view of our range of meat, delicatessen and salads. They can also see our butchers at work in an open work room, and can therefore easily ask them questions or place a special order. "
New: Collect&Go does the shopping for customers
For customers who want to save time, there is now a Collect&Go pick-up point at Colruyt Beaufays. Collect&Go is Colruyt Group’s on-line shopping service. Customers submit their shopping lists on collectandgo.be or via the app, and their shopping is then put ready for them at the pick-up point on the day and time of their choice.
Special open evening
The manager Christophe Guillaume, the head butcher Sébastien Prieto and their 36 staff will welcome customers in the all-new Colruyt Beaufrays as from Wednesday 11 July. The manager: The day before, on Tuesday 10 July, between 5pm and 8pm, everyone can enjoy a sneak preview of what’s in store together with Laurent Burton, mayor of Chaudfontaine. At this special open evening we will also serve drinks and canapés. Everyone is welcome!”
