Spar Winksele reopens on Thursday 12 March after extensive refurbishment

The Spar store in Winksele has undergone extensive refurbishment and will reopen on Thursday 12 March with special promotions. The store will continue to guarantee the well-known Spar quality seven days a week and is fully committed to an even more pleasant shopping experience, a wider assortment and a strong focus on fresh products. Customers can count on a warm neighbourhood supermarket where quality, freshness and personal service take centre stage. Sustainability has also received particular attention. Bert, Gert, Kristof, Erik and their team look forward to welcoming their customers.

Ready for the future, firmly rooted locally

Local anchoring remains a strong asset, and customers will immediately notice this in the refurbished store. They will discover a wide range of regional products: from Adept beer, brewed just 500 metres from the store, to apples, pears, eggs and potatoes from Herent. Apple juice from Bertem and honey from Winksele also have a prominent place in the assortment. In this way, Spar offers products that truly honour local craftsmanship and heritage.

Even more room for flavour

In the refurbished store, everything revolves even more around freshness and craftsmanship. The fresh assortment has been expanded, with additional focus on what brings flavour to the table every day. The bakery now takes centre stage, with delicious bread you can smell as soon as you enter the store. Behind the scenes, the butcher’s and delicatessen workshop has been enlarged, resulting in a broader and more varied range, including home-made dishes. The butcher’s and bakery products, as well as cheese and charcuterie, therefore remain strong assets and true flavour highlights of the store.

Sustainable and future-oriented

At Colruyt Group, sustainability is a top priority. New, sustainable CO₂ refrigeration installations have been installed. In addition, a total of 236 solar panels will be placed, partly on the roof of the store and partly on that of the nearby school. Together, they will provide approximately 40% of the store’s annual energy requirements. On sunny summer days, the store will even operate almost entirely on solar energy.

Festive reopening

With this extensive refurbishment, Spar Winksele is resolutely choosing the future. “That’s the taste of enjoyment’ means enjoying delicious products, a pleasant shopping experience and a warm, family atmosphere where you are welcome seven days a week,” say Bert, Gert, Kristof and Erik. “We very much look forward to welcoming everyone again, and on Thursday 12 March we will celebrate with special offers and festive promotions.”
