Success story since 1991

The Spar along Edingensteenweg in Denderwindeke has become a household word. Ever since 1991, the store is the place where loyal locals and passers-by do their daily shopping. After all these years, the time had come to remodel and enlarge the store. The search for a suitable location did not take long. The new Spar was built next to the old one. Independent entrepreneur Kris Borloo is proud of the result: "With a 780 m² store, twice as large as the old one, we want to continue the familiar Spar story in Denderwindeke."

Unique assortment

Spar Denderwindeke went for a fresh and modern look. There is more room now to expand the range of products. Apart from the fresh products, the bakery remains the store's showpiece. With new raising cabinets and a rotating oven, they make daily fresh baguettes and rolls. The dough raises in the store and is baked afterwards. "It can hardly be fresher than that", says Kris.

Spar Denderwindeke is also known in the area for its broad range of Austrian products, a passion of independent entrepreneur Kris. He is a connoisseur of fresh, local Austrian products and loves to let his customers taste them. The assortment includes excellent Austrian spirits, dairy products and typical Austrian cold cuts. Worth trying!

A real Spar family

The whole team of Spar Denderwindeke moves to the new store. The expanded team of 15 co-workers from the area will set to work in the new store. In the future, they may even recruit more people. "I am very proud of my team", says Kris. "It's a pleasure working with these great people every day. We all help one another and new co-workers are received with open arms." Kris firmly believes in a good atmosphere. "A good team has satisfied customers."

Kris can unhesitatingly confirm that the atmosphere in Denderwindeke is cosy. "Last year, we organised a crowdfunding to buy an AED for our neighbourhood. With our customers, we raised the required amount of money in no time. Nice to live in such a warm-hearted neighbourhood isn't it!"
