Spar Hamont-Achel has undergone an extensive renovation and will reopen on Thursday 29 January. The store continues to offer the well-known Spar quality and, with this renovation, places a strong focus on an even more pleasant shopping experience, a wider range of products and a strong emphasis on fresh products. Customers can expect a warm neighbourhood supermarket where quality, freshness and personal service take centre stage. Sustainability has also received extra attention. From now on, the store will also be open on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

Ready for the future, firmly rooted in the local community

Local anchoring remains essential, and customers will clearly notice this in the renovated store. A wide range of regional products, such as Achel abbey beers, local cheeses, Limburg flan, Limburg sliced cold meat from the in-house workshop (such as black pudding), Limburg fruit juices and Limburg wines, puts the region firmly in the spotlight. An assortment that does full justice to the local heritage.

The store team also contributes to this strong local connection. Store owner Jan Bormans works together with a team of motivated employees, almost all of whom come from the local area. Familiar faces with a passion for quality and customer service ensure a warm atmosphere and personal contact every day.

Highlights of the renovated store

Spar Hamont-Achel is fully committed to freshness and craftsmanship. The main highlights include:

  • A traditional butcher’s department, where three passionate butchers work with dedication on an extensive range of high-quality, traditional meat products.
  • An in-store bakery, where the smell of freshly risen and baked bread rolls welcomes customers as soon as they enter.
  • Top-quality sliced cold meat, cheeses and freshly prepared meals from the in-house workshop. ​ ​

Sustainable and future-oriented

Sustainability is a top priority at Colruyt Group. New CO₂ cooling systems have been installed, with residual heat being reused to heat the store. Most cooling units are fitted with doors to reduce energy consumption. In addition, charging points are available, allowing customers to charge their electric vehicles while shopping.

Festive reopening

Everyone is welcome to attend the opening reception on Wednesday evening, 28 January, featuring a variety of treats and live music. The store officially reopens on Thursday, 29 January, with festive activities and special promotions. Customers will also have the chance to win one of six fully stocked shopping trolleys worth €250 each.
