Reopening of Colruyt Mol: renovated store focused on sustainability

Reopening of Colruyt Mol: renovated store focused on sustainability

Monday, March 17, 2025

On Wednesday 19 March 2025, the Colruyt Lowest Prices store in Mol will reopen its doors. The store on Rozenberg has been upgraded with an optimised shopping route, a renovated butcher’s section, and a brand-new bread display. Additionally, sustainability was a major focus during the renovation. Customers can now enjoy an even more pleasant shopping experience at Colruyt Mol or collect their groceries at the Collect&Go pick-up point. And, as always, at the lowest prices.

Renewed butcher's section

Shopping at Colruyt Mol is now even more enjoyable and efficient thanks to the optimised shopping route covering 2,073 m² of retail space. Store manager Sarah Beysen explains: “The self-service counter in the butcher’s department has been replaced by transparent, closed refrigeration units that emit significantly less CO2. Thanks to the open workshop, customers can watch our butchers at work and easily approach them for questions or special orders.”

Welcome back to Collect&Go

Extra focus on sustainability

The Mol store is equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting with sensors, meaning they save up to 30% energy. The residual heat from the cooling system is recovered and as much as 75% is reused by the ventilation system to heat the store. Solar panels on the roof generate green energy for the store’s own use. There are 10 newly installed, extra-wide bicycle racks, allowing (cargo) bikes to be securely locked in a covered bike shelter. Electric vehicle drivers can charge their cars at one of the ten available charging points while they shop.

Open evening on Tuesday 18 March

Store manager Sarah Beysen: “The entire team of 53 co-workers is looking forward to welcoming our customers back. We are happy to invite them to be the first to discover the renewed store during our open evening on Tuesday 18 March from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. See you then!”
