Reopening of Colruyt Marchienne: a refurbished store focused on sustainable choices

On Wednesday, 28 May 2025, Colruyt Lowest Prices in Marchienne will be reopening its doors. The store on rue du Lieutenant Général Gillain now boasts a wider range of products. In addition, the butcher’s shop has been completely refurbished and a new bread stand has been installed. During the store’s renovation, particular attention was paid to sustainability. Customers of the Colruyt store in Marchienne can now enjoy a more pleasant experience in store or when collecting their shopping at the Collect&Go collection point. And always at the lowest prices.

Optimised customer experience and modernised butcher’s shop

With an optimised shelf layout, customers at Colruyt Marchienne are sure to find their shopping more enjoyable and efficient. They can choose from a larger selection of quality food items. They will also find more fresh produce in the expanded refrigerated zone.

Store Manager Grégory Van Der Stricht explains: “In the butcher’s shop, the self-service counter has been replaced by closed, transparent refrigerators, which emit considerably less CO2. You'll find quality fresh meat and a full range of charcuterie there. You can also see our butchers at work in an open workshop, which makes it easier to communicate if you have any questions or specific orders.”
The modern bread stand offering fresh, pre-packaged bread is also well worth a visit.

Book your shopping once more with Collect&Go

The Collect&Go collection point at Colruyt in Marchienne has also been renovated and is now located in the store, on level 1. Customers can access it from the car park using the lift. Collect&Go is a handy shopping service provided by Colruyt Group. Customers send in their shopping list via collectandgo.be or the Xtra app, and co-workers have their products ready at the collection point by the day and time of their choice.

Special focus on sustainability

The low-energy building is equipped with LED lighting with motion detectors, saving almost 30% energy. It also features a heat recovery system for the heat produced by the refrigeration and ventilation systems to use for heating purposes, resulting in almost 75% savings in energy consumption. Solar panels on the roof provide the store with green energy. Lastly, four extra-wide bicycle racks have been installed in the 93-space car park to provide easy, safe storage for bicycles and cargo bikes.

Open evening on Tuesday 27 May

Store Manager Grégory Van Der Stricht concludes: “With my team of 18 co-workers and 3 butchers, we can't wait to welcome our customers. We’re inviting customers to a sneak preview of the refurbished store at our open evening on Tuesday, 27 May, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Everyone’s welcome!”
