Reopening of Colruyt Lowest Prices in Antoing: a renovated and more sustainable store

The renovated Colruyt Lowest Prices in Antoing will open its doors on Wednesday 18 May, at the Avenue de l'Europe 14. This store in Hainaut, close to the French border, has been completely redesigned. Its freshmart has been expanded to offer more fresh products to the customers. The butcher's department has also been given a complete makeover with an open workshop facilitating contact with the butchers. For the renovation, Colruyt has made sustainable choices. Result: the store does not use any fossil fuels.

Quick and efficient shopping

The Colruyt Lowest Prices store in Antoing has been completely reorganised and the fresh market expanded. Store Manager Barbara Hurteux explains: "We are happy to welcome customers to our completely revamped store. In the fresh department, they will be able to choose from a wider assortment of fruits and vegetables, salads, ready meals.... For our fresh meat, they will be able to count on one of our 8 qualified butchers at any moment. From now on, they will work in an open workshop, thus making it easier to have contacts with our customers. Practical if you want to place a special order or ask information.  »

A special focus on sustainability

For the renovation, several sustainable choices were made. Colruyt is investing in more efficiency, and this is also the case for its store in Antoing. ​ For example, the department store is equipped with LED lighting and motion detectors, which allows it to make significant electricity savings. In addition, the store does not use any fossil fuels. It also has a system for recovering residual heat from refrigeration units, which reduces its greenhouse gas emissions by 90%. A charging post for electric vehicles has also been installed in the car park. Cyclists will find parking spaces to park their bicycles and cargo bikes.
