Reopening of Colruyt Deurne Zuid: revamped store with a focus on sustainability
On Wednesday, 14 May 2025, Colruyt Laagste Prijzen in Deurne Zuid will reopen its doors. The store on Herentalsebaan has received an upgraded butcher's department and a new bread display. The checkout area has also been redesigned. Additionally, extra attention was given to sustainability during the renovation. Customers at Colruyt Deurne Zuid can now enjoy an even more pleasant shopping experience at the lowest prices – and they can once again collect their groceries at the renovated Collect&Go pick-up point. 42 store co-workers and 6 butchers are ready to help customers explore the refreshed store.
Optimised shopping route and renewed butcher’s department
Shopping at Colruyt Deurne Zuid is now even more pleasant and efficient thanks to the optimized layout of the approximately 2.000 m2store.
The butcher's department is now equipped with closed, transparent refrigerators, which emit significantly less CO². Store manager Malika Aitlhadj is keen to highlight the benefits of the renovated butcher's department for customers: “The butcher's department has become much more spacious. As a result, the deli meats from the fresh market can now be found with the other meat products. Everything in one place makes it easier for our customers to choose."
At the end of their shopping experience, customers will notice that it’s easier to pay at their Colruyt. The checkouts and payment units have been lowered so that co-workers are more accessible to customers.
Welcome back to Collect&Go
At the Colruyt store on Herentalsebaan, customers can once again use the Collect&Go pick-up point. Collect&Go is Colruyt Group’s convenient online grocery service. Customers simply send their shopping list via collectandgo.be or the Xtra app. Our co-workers then prepare the order to be picked up at the selected time.
Extra focus on sustainability
The Deurne Zuid store has energy-efficient LED lights with motion sensors installed throughout, allowing Colruyt to save up to 30% energy. The residual heat from the refrigeration system is recovered by the ventilation system and reused to heat the store – up to 75% is recycled in this manner. Another new addition is a green roof, which buffers heat during the summer months. In the parking area, you will find 14 extra-wide bike racks, making it easier to fill your bike baskets.
