Reopening of Colruyt Alsemberg: revamped store with a focus on sustainability

The Colruyt Lowest Prices store in Alsemberg will reopen its doors on Wednesday 7 May 2025. The store on Brusselsesteenweg has been upgraded with a renewed butcher's department and a newly designed bread unit. The checkout area has also been redesigned. Additionally, sustainability was a major focus during the renovation. Customers at Colruyt Alsemberg can now enjoy an even more pleasant shopping experience at the lowest prices. They can also once again make use of the revamped Collect&Go pick-up point. A team of 38 store co-workers and 11 butchers is ready to welcome customers and introduce them to the renewed store.

Optimised shopping route and renewed butcher’s department

Shopping at Colruyt Alsemberg is now even more pleasant and efficient, thanks to an optimised shopping route that spans over 2,000 m².

Cold sliced meat is now stored in transparent, closed fridges that emit significantly less CO₂. Store manager Frederik Elsoucht adds another advantage of the upgraded butcher’s section: “Thanks to the open workshop, customers can see our butchers at work. This makes it easy for them to ask questions or request special orders.”

At the end of their visit, customers will notice that the checkouts and payment units have been lowered, making it easier to speak with co-workers in the open checkout area

Welcome back to Collect&Go

In Alsemberg, customers can once again visit the upgraded Collect&Go pick-up point. Collect&Go is Colruyt Group’s convenient online grocery service. Customers simply send their shopping list via collectandgo.be or the Xtra app. Our co-workers then prepare the order to be picked up at the selected time.

Extra focus on sustainability

The store in Alsemberg is now equipped with energy-efficient LED lights with motion sensors, which help save up to 30% on energy. The residual heat from the refrigeration system is recovered by the ventilation system and reused to heat the store – up to 75% is recycled in this way. In the car park, there is a covered bicycle shelter with 11 extra-wide bike racks. Electric vehicle drivers can charge their cars at one of the four available charging points while they shop.

Open house evening on Tuesday 6 May

Gerant Frederik Elsoucht: “We and the entire team of 38 store co-workers and 11 butchers are looking forward to welcoming back our customers. Everyone is welcome to discover the revamped store during our open house evening on Tuesday 6 May from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!"
