On 7 September, the revamped Spar Colruyt Group store in the centre of Tielt-Winge will reopen. The store first opened its doors 16 years ago and was in need of an overhaul. The neighbourhood supermarket was therefore completely renovated in the style of the latest generation of Spar stores, with attention to sustainability and an attractive layout. This allows independent entrepreneur Rudi Meeus and his team to focus even more on a pleasant shopping experience and their wide range of fresh, high-quality products.
Completely renovated store
The renovated Spar store is ideally located on Rillaarseweg, in the centre of Tielt-Winge. After a short closure, loyal and new customers can discover the completely new store as of Thursday 7 September. A modern design neighbourhood supermarket, where shopping convenience and sustainability go hand in hand. "After 16 years, our shop was in need of renovation to fully comply with all environmental requirements and energy standards that Colruyt Group currently applies", Rudi Meeus says. "For instance, all our old fridges and freezers were replaced with energy-efficient models with doors."
The renovation had been on the agenda earlier but had to be postponed because of the Covid crisis. The modern interior now creates a more spacious and open feel, while the extensive range of quality products is more logically and conveniently displayed. In addition to new, more spacious wall fridges, Spar Tielt-Winge now also has a larger fruit and vegetable department. The modified checkout area makes paying quick and easy.
Innovative packaging
The butchery remains the shop's signboard. The serving counter has given way to a new open refrigeration unit. Customers can take their own familiar meat products there, as well as cold meats and fresh dishes expertly prepared by staff in the revamped workshop. Moreover, a unique packing system is used at this Spar: each slice of cold meats is separated with foil and packed under a protective atmosphere, allowing the products to keep for up to a week. "Ideal for singles or single-parent families," Rudi explains.
Extensive and diverse range
Spar Tielt-Winge guarantees quality. From authentic specialities such as Limousin beef to the best regional products. Customers will find strawberries, asparagus and also ice cream from local traders. Spar Tielt-Winge is also the place to go for a good bottle of wine. Rudi, a wine lover himself: "Two of our employees are now taking a sommelier course. This will allow them to advise our customers even better, while we can further expand our range with the tastiest wines."
Everyone is welcome at Spar Tielt-Winge: whether you stop by for your daily shopping or need advice because you want to give a party. "I can count on a brilliant team every day," Rudi says, "some have been there since day one, 16 years ago!"
Reopening on 7 September
From Thursday 7 September, the team of both permanent staff, flexible workforce and working students will again be ready to welcome their customers. "We will wait a little longer to organise an the opening reception until the works on Blerebergstraat are finished, then we will have extra reason to celebrate," Rudi says. During the opening week, though, customers can already benefit from lots of great discounts.
