To meet the expectations of the growing number of customers, Colruyt decided to renovate and expand the store in Marche-en-Famenne. Since its construction in 1995, the site has already been expanded twice. A first time in 1997 for the car park, when 2 houses along the road had been demolished. A second time in 2004 to integrate an income hall in local stones with the existing building.
New-generation store
Now, in 2018, it was time for a third expansion. The store was rebuilt as a new-generation Colruyt store with a few novelties. Store manager Simon Lardinois: "We renovated the store to allow our customers to shop even more efficiently and pleasantly. When making renovations, we always aim at simplicity and the lowest costs, as our customers expect of us."
Brand-new butcher's department
Customers can choose their fresh quality meat in the self-service butcher's counter. Head butcher Piere Viviani: "The butchers cut the fresh meat on the spot. Customers can see the butchers at work in an open workshop and talk to them if they have questions or a special order. In the new butcher's department, customers also have a nice overview of the range of meat, cold cuts and salads."
Special open evening
As from Wednesday 2 May, store manager Simon Lardinois, head butcher Pierre Viviani and their 39 collaborators are ready to welcome their customers in the renewed Colruyt Marche-en-Famenne.
Simon Lardinois: "The evening before, on Tuesday evening 30 April from 5 to 8 pm, everyone is invited for a preview of the renovations. During this special open evening, attended by mayor André Bouchat, we will gladly offer our customers a snack and a drink. Everyone is most welcome!"
