Renovated Colruyt Landen opens with spacious Collect&Go pick up point

On Wednesday 31 July, the renovated Colruyt store in Landen reopens. The supermarket now has a larger freshmarket and frozen products department and a completely new car park. The store has electronic price labels on the shelves. Finally, customers in Landen can also have their supplies prepared for them at a Collect&Go pick-up point.

Efficient shopping on 1,200 m²

"During closure, we completely rearranged the store", says store manager Jonas Casteleyn. "Our customers can now shop even more pleasantly and efficiently. Our renovated store covers nearly 1.200 m². The frozen products department and the freshmarket are larger, 6 checkout posts allow smooth passage and the new, larger car park has 118 places."

Butcher's department with open workshop

Customers can choose their fresh quality meat in the self-service butcher's department. Head butcher John Petteloot: "Customers can see the butchers at work in an open workshop and talk to them if they have questions or a special order. They also have a nice overview of the range of meat, cold cuts and salads.”

Electronic price labels

No more paper labels at Colruyt Landen, but electronic ones. "They offer quite a few advantages", says the store manager. "With this new system, we can react to price changes at our competitors much faster. And it is better for the environment: every year, we save a lot of transport and 75 million labels or 90 tonnes of paper. They are also energy-efficient since they only consume energy while a price is adapted. And we save time we can use to put products on the shelves for instance."

Collect&Go shops for the customers

Colruyt Landen now also has a Collect&Go pick-up point. "Collect&Go is a handy Colruyt Group service where we shop for the customers", says Jonas Casteleyn. "They send their shopping list to collectandgo.be or via the app, and the Collect&Go employees have their products ready at the pick-up point on the day and time of their choice.”

Low-energy store

For the renovation of the store in Landen, Colruyt chose sustainable techniques for energy, such as heat recovery. We recover the heat emission from our refrigeration installation to heat the store. Colruyt thus continues to optimise its energy consumption and lower its CO2 impact.

Special open evening on 30 July

As from Wednesday 31 July, store manager Jonas Casteleyn, head butcher John Petteloot and their 23 co-workers will welcome their customers back at Colruyt Landen.

"The evening before everyone can come and discover the new store", says the store manager. "During this special open evening, from 5 to 8 pm, we will gladly offer our customers a snack and a drink. Everyone is most welcome!"
