Opening of a second Colruyt store in Forest: a functional and sustainable store

To serve customers in Forest even better, a second Colruyt Lowest Prices store will open its doors on Wednesday 17 December 2025 at Chaussée d'Alsemberg 171. The building has been designed to guarantee customers the best possible shopping experience. In addition to a wide range of fresh and frozen products, the store has a latest-generation butcher’s section and a modern bread unit. When fitting out the store, particular attention was paid to the sustainability of the facilities.

A store designed to offer a unique shopping experience

In the new Colruyt Lowest Prices store in Forest, which covers 1,536 m² of retail space, customers can choose from a very wide range of quality products, both major brands and private-label products, and always at the best prices. The store floor plan is designed to make the shopping experience as pleasant and efficient as possible. Manager Mustapha Samh explains: “Our new-generation butcher's department is equipped with closed, transparent refrigerators. You’ll find quality fresh meat and a full selection of charcuterie. What's more, thanks to the open workshop, customers can see our qualified butchers at work, making it easy for them to ask questions or place special orders.” The modern bread unit offering fresh, pre-packaged bread is also well worth a visit.

Order your groceries with Collect&Go

Those who prefer to collect their shopping directly can go to the Collect&Go pick-up point at Colruyt in Forest. Collect&Go is Colruyt Group’s convenient online shopping service. Customers send their shopping list via collectandgo.be or the Xtra app, and co-workers prepare their order at the pick-up point for the chosen day and time.

Strong focus on sustainability

Colruyt Group is committed to sustainable construction. For Colruyt in Forest, this theme was also a key focus. The building is equipped with LED lighting with motion detectors, saving almost 30% in energy. For heating, the store recovers no less than 75% of the heat emitted by the refrigeration systems via the ventilation system. What’s more, this installation uses propane as its refrigerant, reducing the CO2 footprint by almost 90%. The store also generates its own energy thanks to solar panels installed on the roof. The 131-space car park is partly covered (100 spaces), which comes in very handy when the weather is bad. It is equipped with 10 extra-wide bicycle racks and 2 charging stations for 4 electric vehicles, one of which is fast.

Open evening on Tuesday 16 December

Manager Mustapha Samh concludes: “My team of 24 store co-workers and four butchers and I can’t wait to welcome our customers. We're inviting them to a sneak preview of the store at our open evening on Tuesday 16 December, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome!”
