On 24 May, Bio-Planet opened a new branch in Gembloux, its 37th store in Belgium. The organic supermarket chain intends to continue making organic and ecological products more accessible and encouraging customers to consume in a more sustainable way. All with real, good quality products, in stores that are just as good.
The new Bio-Planet store, located on the same site as the former Match store in Gembloux, is the ideal place for customers looking for organic and ecological products. This is the second Bio-Planet to open after the acquisition of the Match, Smatch and Louis Delhaize stores by Colruyt Group. The range includes a wide selection of organic fruit and vegetables, fresh bread, meat, cheese and charcuterie. Bio-Planet also offers a wide range of veggie, vegan and gluten-free products. Store manager Manuel Barro and his enthusiastic team are ready to welcome customers and show them around the new 1,026 m² shop.
Bio-Planet is all about good, real products in good, real stores. From the moment they enter the store, customers experience a wonderful story, particularly with the new baskets made from recycled polypropylene, which is derived from plastic waste and fishing nets used in our oceans. With the opening of the Gembloux store, Bio-Planet is also expanding its range of plants. In addition to seasonal plants such as fruit trees, the brand now offers a permanent range of indoor and outdoor plants. Bio-Planet also guarantees the absence of chemical pesticides and strives to use peat-free substrates and plastic-free packaging.

The store has also invested heavily in bulk and unpackaged products. Bio-Planet offers a range of fruit and vegetables in bulk, as well as mixed nuts, cereals and dried fruit. Customers can serve themselves in jars or containers purchased from Bio-Planet or in their own containers.
In the bulk sweet and savoury snacks section, you'll find raspberries, chocolate and mendiants. What's more, customers now also have a choice of three varieties of bulk coffee beans from Nicaragua, Ethiopia and Colombia. This approach aims to eliminate unnecessary packaging and encourage customers to consume products without packaging.
At Bio-Planet Gembloux, you can also explore the huge range of skincare and cosmetics products on offer at the brand-new health & beauty corner. For customers looking for a last-minute gift for a loved one, the store offers gift baskets filled with quality products. These can be accompanied by flowers and a gift card.
Do you prefer to do your shopping online? That’s no problem. Customers can easily book their organic groceries via Collect&Go and collect them from Bio-Planet Gembloux.
Local residents and journalists are invited to preview the brand-new branch on Thursday 23 May between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. A perfect opportunity to discover the range, the suppliers and the staff while enjoying a drink and an amuse-bouche. What's more, the first 500 customers will receive a free plant and a goodie bag containing a selection of products from our range!
