Shop more efficiently
The new Colruyt Salzinnes is larger by a quarter and measures almost 1,900 m². "This allowed us to expand the fresh-market and to add a check-out point", says store manager Eric Junion. "We also reorganised the whole store so our customers can shop even more pleasantly and efficiently."
Low-energy store
The new store's front and roof insulation exceeds the legal requirements. Moreover, the store is more hermetic than before. Colruyt Salzinnes has become a low energy store with sustainable technology such as the propylene refrigeration system. "This project is part of a more comprehensive renovation plan: by 2019, all Colruyt Group stores should be low energy stores", says the store manager. "The group's CO2 emission must go down by 4 %.”
Perfect ventilation and airtight
The store is perfectly insulated and ventilated. Indeed, proper insulation is impossible without airtightness and ventilation. Thanks to an air lock at the entrance, the building hardly loses any heat during the winter. Eric Junion: "The cold air stays outside and the heat stays inside. And in summer, it is the other way around. Thanks to the heat recovery system, the store needs less heating."
Integrated with the urban environment
The renovated Colruyt store in Salzinnes has a green roof. The mosses, succulents and grasses insulate the roof winter and summer and provide biodiversity in the city.
Butcher's department with open workshop
Customers can choose their fresh quality meat in the self-service butcher's department. Head butcher Florimont Igot: "Customers can see the butchers at work in an open workshop and talk to them if they have questions or a special order. Our customers have a nice overview of the range of meat, cold cuts and salads."
New: Collect&Go shops for the customer
”For customers who want to gain time, Colruyt Salzinnes has a Collect&Go pick-up point”, says Christophe Guillaume. ”Collect&Go is Colruyt Group's online shopping service. Customers send their shopping list to collectandgo.be or via the app, and we have their products ready at the pick-up point on the day and time of their choice.”
Special open house
Store manager Eric Junion, butcher's department manager Florimont Igot and their 29 employees are looking forward to meeting their customers at the revamped Colruyt Salzinnes as of Wednesday 17 June.
”The evening before, on Tuesday 16 July from 5 to 8 pm, everyone is invited for a preview of the renovations.", says the store manager. ”During this special open house, customers will be offered snacks and a drink. Everyone is most welcome!"
