Colruyt Group has acquired a 45.65% stake in BON, the gourmet bar offering quality, home-cooked meals. BON has shops in Brussels, Antwerp and Liège and prepares tasty breakfasts and lunches, tailored to the needs of city customers. For Colruyt Group, the acquisition fits within the strategic objective of, on the one hand, growing in cities and, on the other hand, further focusing on an on-the-go offering that provides convenience to the customer.
BON was founded in 2015 in Brussels. There is a central kitchen from which freshly prepared dishes are sent daily to the 11 integrated stores in Brussels, Antwerp, and Liège. Frédéric Duqué, CEO of BON: "Our customers find a wide range of freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, salads, sandwiches, hot meals, and delicious desserts. We focus on tasty recipes, offering our customers a selection for every moment of the day." BON stores are located in city centers where there are many pedestrians.
Colruyt Group announces that it has acquired a 45.65% stake in BON. Christophe Dehandschutter of Colruyt Group: "Our ambition is clear: we want to increase our market share in major cities. We will do this with our well-known stores such as Colruyt Lowest Prices, Okay, Okay Compact, and Collect&Go, as well as by acquiring concepts tailored to urban customers. This also allows us to get to know these customers better. With BON, we have the ideal partner to reach this target group even better and understand what they are looking for. Additionally, we see great potential to gain more knowledge in the convenience segment: an increasingly important customer need for more convenience and on-the-go solutions."
All BON dishes are made in a central kitchen in Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe (Brussels). Frédéric Duqué, CEO of BON: "In our kitchen, we work with local and seasonal products. We find it important to offer our customers tasty and nutritious meals. From the kitchen, we supply our 11 stores and make meals that customers can have delivered to their homes or offices. We also supply products to stores in the cities so that their customers can enjoy our dishes. Customers have been able to buy our products in the 20 Okay Compact stores of Colruyt Group since 2023. There is definitely growth potential, and we look forward to working with Colruyt Group. Offering our products in their stores benefits the customer, Colruyt Group, and us." The management of BON will continue to run the kitchen and stores.
In addition to Frédéric Duqué and Colruyt Group, Guardiola Invest is also a shareholder of BON. Frederic Markiewicz, director representing Guardiola Invest: "This strategic investment by Colruyt Group represents a significant milestone in the evolution of BON and offers attractive new prospects for the company and its stakeholders. Guardiola Invest is looking forward to this new partnership and we are convinced that this transaction will further strengthen BON's position in the healthy on-the-go market in Belgium."
