    "body": "<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Over the coming months, Colruyt Group will start baking bakery products in 10 additional stores. Since last year, the range has been successfully available in 6 stores, where more than one in three customers now places a bakery product in their shopping cart. In June and July, around 40 breads, baguettes, pastries and savoury snacks will also be baked in the Colruyt stores in Rochefort (2 June), Li&egrave;ge Constitution (23 June) and Stockel (14 July). </strong></p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">The results clearly show that Colruyt customers are embracing the extended bakery assortment. In the stores where the bread range was expanded in 2025, almost one in three customers purchases a product from the new assortment. The best sellers are the classics: white baguettes, chocolate rolls, croissants, white bread rolls and brioche buns. Across all stores, the bakery assortment is continuously tested and optimised, including the introduction of new references such as wholemeal rolls, croissant sandwiches and muffins. </p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">Over the coming months, Colruyt will also introduce the bakery assortment in several stores in Wallonia. The Rochefort store, which is also open on Sundays during tourist periods, will be the first to launch the bakery department on 2 June. This will make it possible to assess the impact of Sunday openings on the bakery offer, as well as the influence of nearby summer camps during the holiday season. This will be followed by the Li&egrave;ge Constitution store, located in the heart of the city, providing insights into the bakery preferences of city residents and tourists alike. </p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">Geert Elen, Head of Innovation at Colruyt, is pleased that customers appreciate the offer: &ldquo;<em>Customer feedback has been unanimously positive, and shoppers also value the fact that we adapt our range to their needs. Over the past few months, the test stores have attracted new customers, and young families in particular enjoy adding the new bakery products to their shopping trolley. We look forward to offering the same range to our Walloon customers and learning more about their bakery preferences</em>.&rdquo; </p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">The breakfast offer is also proving popular. Since Colruyt stores started opening from 8 a.m., the Colruyt store in Halle has seen 40% of the customers purchase a breakfast bakery product every day between 8 and 9 a.m. </p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">For the employees, baking bread has also become an enjoyable learning experience. Geert Elen explains: &ldquo;<em>In our test stores, we work with a group of colleagues who were keen to embark on a new adventure in the bakery department. They receive specific training, allowing them to further develop their interests and skills</em>.<em>Breads are freshly baked just before the store opens, giving them a deliciously crisp crust, and are baked again throughout the day. Baguettes, pastries and other products are also baked several times a day to guarantee the highest quality and freshness</em>,<em>while helping to minimise food waste as much as possible.&rdquo;</em>
