Thursday, April 2, 2026
Colruyt Group Academy opens its 10th Academy in Oostkamp on two April, in a completely new combi site that also houses a Colruyt shop, Jims and Collect&Go. This Colruyt Group Academy (CGA), the second in West Flanders, will again be a cosy, versatile and sustainable location where young and old can go for workshops, birthday parties, teambuildings, meetings and much more.
Second Academy in West Flanders for inspiring workshops and birthday parties
Colruyt Group Academy Oostkamp will be the place of choice in the region for inspiration. Cooking workshops can be booked and demo cooking and physical lectures will take place on a variety of subjects. Ellen Dereymaeker, in charge of Colruyt Group Academy explains:"During the workshops, tastings and lectures - where there is a wide range of themes to choose from, with health often the guiding principle - gathering and inspiration take centre stage, in an open and informal learning environment. We saw a lot of potential for a second location in West Flanders after our Academy in Kortrijk, and are very much looking forward to now welcoming people from Oostkamp and the surrounding area. " In addition, this Academy will also be a unique location for children. Parents will be relieved thanks to fun and educational children's birthday parties, and during the summer holidays there will be day camps for children aged 6 to 12.
Also interesting for companies and associations: flexible and modern facilities
The new Academy will also be the perfect place for groups, associations and companies; it will be possible to rent five spacious rooms. Of these, four have movable walls that can be converted into one large meeting room of over 200 m² in no time at all. The two fully equipped kitchens, one with double cooking island, are ideal for hosting large groups. The extra space provided by the large covered terraces, with views of greenery and water, are an added bonus for teambuilding sessions, for example. A cosy multipurpose room with sitting areas and three coffee corners for taking a break in between completes the picture. Ellen Dereymaeker: "It goes without saying that catering is also possible. This B2B offer at our other Academies really catches on, and we are convinced that this will also be the case here".
A place where sustainability is central
Colruyt Group has sustainability in its blood and this is also reflected in this new Academy (and in the group's other formulas located at the new site in Oostkamp). Ellen Dereymaeker gives some examples:"we keep food waste to a minimum: in all our academies, food surpluses are avoided as much as possible. If there are leftovers anyway, we give them a useful purpose through social organisations such as Foodsavers". Green energy is also at the heart of this new location. Ellen adds, "All elements have been carefully chosen and studied, with respect for the environment. The furniture has been selected with far-reaching sustainability in mind. For example, reupholstering the modular chairs is a piece of cake, while the fabrics chosen are also ecological and sustainable."
Easy access by car, bicycle and public transport
The Academy in Oostkamp is easily accessible for cyclists, cars and public transport. Car drivers will find a spacious communal car park, where electric cars can charge at the DATS24 charging station. For cyclists, there is a safe bicycle connection to the Bruges-Ghent canal. This allows them to cycle straight on to the F6 cycle highway. 40 extra-wide bike racks provide parking space for (carrier) bikes in the communal car park. Bruges railway station is 2.5 km from the site. Just 100 metres from the Academy you will find the bus stop 'Bedrijventerrein De Rampe', where line 20 stops.
