On Wednesday 28 October 2026, the Colruyt store in Evere will reopen its doors. The store on Avenue des Anciens Combattants has been given a thorough makeover, making it even more pleasant for customers to shop at the lowest prices. The revamped store is also the second Colruyt store in the Brussels region to have a bakery section, offering freshly baked bread, bread rolls and pastries every day. Sustainability was a key focus throughout the refurbishment. The store's team of 36 store employees and 7 butchers is looking forward to welcoming customers back.
Brand-new bakery and optimised store layout
\u200bThe revamped Colruyt Evere is the second Colruyt store in the Brussels region to have a bakery. Customers can choose from more than 30 different freshly baked products, including bread, bread rolls, baguettes, pastries and sausage rolls. Everything is baked on site several times a day to guarantee freshness and quality.
The new store layout makes shopping easier and more efficient. The butcher’s department has also been redesigned, with meat and sliced cold meat now conveniently displayed together. Store manager Yannick Moonens explains: “Our butchers prepare the meat products every day. Customers can now find meat and sliced cold meat in one place, while our butchers remain readily available to answer questions or prepare customised orders.”

Collect&Go pick-up point welcomes customers back
\u200bCustomers who want to make their grocery shopping even more efficient can have their groceries prepared for them by ordering through Collect&Go, Colruyt Group’s online grocery service. They can either collect their groceries from the pick-up point at the store or opt for home delivery.

Extra focus on sustainability
\u200bSustainable construction is essential to Colruyt Group. As the group's real-estate partner, Nirmana Real Estate handled the renovation of Colruyt Evere therefore with a particular focus on sustainability. Residual heat from the refrigeration system is recovered and used to heat the building. The system uses propane as a refrigerant, cutting the refrigeration system’s carbon footprint by more than 90%. Energy-efficient LED lighting with sensors delivers a further 30% energy saving, while the ventilation system recovers 75% of the heat. No gas or heating oil – and therefore no fossil fuels – is used to heat the store. The site is also equipped with five charging points for electric cars, providing charging facilities for up to ten vehicles.

\u200bOn Tuesday 27 October, from 5 to 8 p.m., the store team will host a special opening event, with drinks for customers.
