Colruyt Eeklo: renovated store with larger Collect&Go pick-up point

On Wednesday 28 July, the Colruyt Lowest Prices store of Eeklo opens its doors after renovation work. The store and the butcher's shop have been fully renovated. Moreover, the Collect&Go pick-up point has become larger. During the renovation, sustainable choices were made making the store more energy-efficient.

Pleasant and efficient shopping

The store has been completely renovated and rearranged. Store manager Bart Rutsaert: “The self-service butcher's department was also revamped. You can see our qualified butchers at work in an open workshop, where they cut and pack the fresh meat on the spot. If you have questions or special orders, you can directly talk to them." The new store lay-out makes shopping even more pleasant and efficient.

Sustainable choices

During the renovation, we took sustainability into account. Colruyt Group continuously invests in more efficiency, also for the energy consumption of the renovated store in Eeklo. For example, the store is equipped with LED lights, a heat pump and solar panels that generate their own energy for the store. The residual heat released from the cooling installations is recovered, which means the store emits 90 % fewer greenhouse gasses. There are charging posts for electric cars on the car park.

Collect&Go: we do your shopping for you

Online shopping is on the rise. That is why Colruyt has renovated and expanded the Collect&Go pick-up point in Eeklo, which means more customers can be helped. Collect&Go is Colruyt Group's online shopping service. Customers send their shopping list to collectandgo.be or via the app, and the co-workers have their products ready at the pick-up point on the day and time of their choice.

Because of corona measures, there will not be an open evening. Store manager Bart Rutsaert: "Come and discover the renovated Colruyt in Eeklo in the first week and receive a small welcome gift. My team and I are looking forward to welcoming everyone in safe conditions. We therefore ask our customers to comply with all government rules."

New snack tube helps parents and students through exam season
