Complete product range on 1,600 m²

The former Colruyt store in Lebbeke had become too small to shop comfortably. "That is why we completely tore it down and built a new one", says store manager Ibrahim Ünal. "The new store has a surface of 1,600 m², almost 1.5 times the old one. A larger store means a larger range of products, in the frozen products department and the fresh market for instance. 2 extra checkout points, 8 in total, ensure a smooth service.” 

Butcher's department with open workshop

Customers can choose their fresh quality meat in the self-service butcher's department. Head butcher Timmy Vaneeckhoudt: "Customers can see the butchers at work in an open workshop and talk to them if they have questions or a special order. They also have a nice overview of the range of meat, cold cuts and salads.”

New: Collect&Go shops for the customers

Colruyt Lebbeke also has a Collect&Go pick-up point now. Collect&Go is a handy Colruyt Group service, where we shop for the customers. They give us their shopping list online or by means of the app. The products are ready for them at the pick-up point by the day and time they chose.

14 extra co-workers

The store's expansion and renovation also results in more work. "In all, 48 co-workers can set to work at Colruyt Lebbeke", says the store manager. "Eight of them work in the store and six in the butcher's department." 

Easily accessible

The car park of Colruyt Lebbeke is partly covered and has 113 places. Customers can easily reach the store with their shopping trolley by means of the lift or the moving walkway. 

"The car park is easily accessible by 2 entries/exits", says Ibrahim Ünal. "From Brusselsesteenweg as well as from Opwijksestraat."

Low-energy store: 4 % less CO2

Colruyt Lebbeke has become a low-energy store: the outer walls and roof are better insulated. Moreover, the store is more hermetic than before. The store also switches to sustainable technology with a propane-fuelled cooling system, and heat recovery from the ventilation. Ibrahim Ünal: "This project is part of a more comprehensive renovation plan: by 2029, all Colruyt Group stores should be low-energy stores. The group's CO2 emissions have to go down by 4 %.”

Special open evening with mayor

From Wednesday 12 December, store manager Ibrahim Ünal, head butcher Timmy Vaneeckhoudt and their 46 co-workers will welcome their customers at the new Colruyt Lebbeke.
\u200b "The evening before, everyone is invited for a store preview in the presence of mayor François Saeys", says the store manager. "During this special open evening, from 5 to 8 pm, we will gladly offer our customers a snack and a drink. Everyone is most welcome!"
