A brand-new Colruyt Lowest Prices opens in Merchtem

On Wednesday 31 March 2021, a brand-new Colruyt Lowest Prices store opens its doors with a Collect&Go pick-up point along Bleukenweg 5 in Merchtem. From then on, you can enjoy the lowest prices in the Merchtem region as well. The new store is at walking distance from the centre and can easily be reached by all approach roads. We recruited 30 new co-workers.

Choice from a broad product range

The newest Colruyt Lowest Prices store in Merchtem is a spacious store with a large range of quality products, national brands as well as private labels. Store manager Ibrahim Ünal: "We are happy to welcome our customers in our brand-new store with spacious freshmarket and extensive frozen products department. Customers can choose their fresh quality meat at the self-service butcher's department, where they can always approach our butchers if they have questions or need advice."

Easily reachable and with spacious car park

Colruyt Merchtem is at walking distance from the centre and can easily be reached by all approach roads. Parking your car is easy on the spacious car park. Part of the car park is underground and can be reached with a lift. This means you can calmly put your shopping in your car, even in rainy weather. You can also easily reach the store by bicycle.

Collect&Go shops for you

Collect&Go is Colruyt Group's handy online shopping service. Near the store in Merchtem, we opened a Collect&Go pick-up point. Customers send their shopping list to collectandgo.be or via the app, and the co-workers have their products ready at the pick-up point on the day and time of their choice.

Sustainable choices

As always, Colruyt makes sustainable choices. The store in Merchtem is established in an existing building and uses green electricity and a refrigeration system running on propane. This decreases the CO2 emissions from the cooling system. Moreover, the residual heat from the cooling is recovered.

The team is ready for you

Colruyt has been an important employer for years. The team of the new Colruyt store in Merchtem consists of 30 co-workers. With these recruitments, Colruyt provides opportunities for employment in the area. 

Because of corona measures, there is no open evening when the store reopens. Store manager Ibrahim Ünal: "Come and discover the brand-new Colruyt ​ and we prepare a welcome gift. My team and I are looking forward to welcoming everyone safely in our store. We ask our customers to comply with all government rules."

Colruyt Group unveils a brand-new scheme: families who train at Jims build up credit towards their fruit and veg at Colruyt
With the new Move & Save membership, Colruyt Meilleurs Prix and Jims combine physical activity and healthy eating in a single integrated package. For €14.99 a week, a family of up to three people can train as often as they like at Jims. If the family completes three training sessions during the week, they will receive €5 in Xtra shopping credit to spend on fresh fruit and vegetables. The scheme will launch on 15 September at Jims clubs in Ghent Rooigem, Hasselt and Nivelles, and the credit will be valid in all Colruyt stores.
